Care in Normal Birth: a Practical Guide. Report of a Technical Working Group. World Health Organization, 1996

Open Arms has provided birth doula services to women and their families in the Puget Sound area since 1997. We offer services to pregnant women who would otherwise find themselves alone or with little support. Open Arms provides an array of services according to the needs of women and their families, including prenatal support and parenting education, continuous emotional and physical support throughout labor and delivery, and assistance in the first six weeks after delivery. In addition, our birth doulas are trained to provide culturally appropriate care to every family we serve.

Open Arms partners with other community programs to nurture families in need and assist in creating environments that are safe and healthy for new babies. Our partners include Public Health - Seattle and King County, and Children’s Home Society of Washington’s Next Generation Program for Teen Parents.

We are always interested in building further our community partnerships and increasing the number of clients we are able to serve. If you are interested in learning more about our Birth Doula Services Program, please contact us at info@openarmsps.org.
