Setting up a Doula Business with Kristin Travis

We’re excited to announce a virtual learning opportunity, Setting up a Doula Business led by the wonderful Kristin Travis! This opportunity is great for new doulas exploring how to move forward with the business side of things.
What will be discussed:
  • Why start a business?
  • Business models: Sole Proprietorship and LLC (differences, what it takes, making your decision, where to get support)
  • Contracts and Forms!
  • Marketing: What does it look like?
  • Navigating the Insurance process and getting a National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Moving forward…things to keep in mind
What registered participants will receive:
  • Recording of the session
  • Certificate of Attendance
  • Access to materials shared during the session

Open Arms Perinatal Services is the leading non-profit providing doula services specifically for pregnant and parenting families in Washington State who are facing poverty. The are focused on strong community-based support for families through pregnancy, birth, and into early childhood. They offer support in 17 languages, and serve over 300 families each year. Open Arms carefully pair clients with trained doulas who are a cultural and/or language match whenever possible. They have served over 3,000 clients and conducted over 22,000 home visits to help improve maternal and infant health, as well as build healthy foundations for early learning.
